TVS X electric scooter launched at Rs 2.50 lakh

Two-wheeler major TVS Motor Company has launched its new electric scooter TVS iQube Electric in an updated TVS X electric scooter variant, priced at Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The new TVS iQube Electric X is the latest addition to the company’s electric scooter portfolio, joining the existing TVS iQube and TVS iQube S variants. TVS claims a host of upgrades and new features in the X variant.

The TVS iQube Electric X is equipped with a 5.1 kWh battery pack and delivers a range of 128 km on a single charge. The electric motor generates a peak power output of 6kW and can accelerate from 0-40 km/hr in just 3.3 seconds.

The scooter features four riding modes – Eco, Power, Reverse, and Brake Energy Recovery System (BERS). It also comes with features like a 7-inch TFT touchscreen, a TVS SmartXonnect platform with connected features, three-way adjustable mono-shock suspension, and disc brakes on both wheels.

The TVS iQube Electric X will be available in a choice of four colors – Versatile Black, Vivacious Magenta, Vibrant Orange, and Stealth Green. It can be booked online on the company’s website or TVS retail stores for a booking amount of Rs 5,000.

The launch of the new high-end electric scooter variant comes close on the heels of the new Ola S1 Air launch and marks the heating up of competition in the electric two-wheeler space.

TVS first launched the iQube Electric in January 2020 as its first electric scooter offering and has sold over 12,000 units so far.

The company is targeting sales of over 1 lakh units of electric two-wheelers this year across both its brands TVS and TVS iQube Electric.

TVS Motor Company stated that it has committed Rs 1,000 crore towards the electric vehicle business to drive its growth.

The TVS iQube Electric competes with electric scooters like Ola S1 Air, Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, and Hero Vida. The electric two-wheeler segment is seeing growing demand with rising fuel prices and government subsidies.
