iVoomi launches new connected features for existing electric scooter range at ₹2,999

Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer iVoomi launches new connected features for its existing electric scooter range, priced at Rs 2,999. The new connected features will be offered as an optional accessory for all existing customers through iVoomi dealerships across the country.

The key highlights of the new connected offering are a Bluetooth-enabled smart dashboard, ride statistics & analytics, remote lock/unlock capability, vehicle health monitoring and diagnostics, location tracking, geo-fencing, ride reports, and more. These features will be accessible via a new iVoomi EZ Connect mobile app for iOS and Android smartphones.

According to Mr. Sunil Bansal, Founder-CEO, of iVoomi Energy, “Our aim with the new connected offering is to provide more smart features via OTA updates and take the riding experience to the next level for our tech-savvy customers. The subscription plan starts at just Rs 2,999 for 1 year, making it very accessible. This will give them complete insights about their vehicle status as well as provide added safety, security, and convenience.”

The smart Bluetooth-enabled dashboard will allow riders to connect their smartphones with the scooter to access all information and vehicle settings. It will show details like state of charge, range, speed, trip meters, service alerts, etc. Riders can also view their detailed ride statistics and analytics to monitor their driving habits.

The new connected tech will enable functions like scheduled ride settings, remote lock/unlock, vehicle health monitoring, and more. The geofencing feature sends alerts when the vehicle exits or enters a designated area. Location tracking will let users track their parked scooters via the app. The ride reports offer monthly summaries for aspects like distance covered, average speed, CO2 saved, etc.

iVoomi currently offers electric scooters like the iVoomi Astrid Lite, Astrid Sport, VROOM, Hunter, Ecoostic, etc. priced between Rs 69,999 to Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The new connected features will be available for these models launched after January 2022. Customers can get their existing iVoomi scooters retrofitted with the required hardware at dealerships and then activate the plan.

As per Mr. Bansal, “Our aim is not just to provide greener mobility solutions, but also smarter ones. The OTA update capability will allow us to keep improving the customer experience with new features added periodically. This will make the scooters future-ready while enhancing convenience and safety.”

iVoomi commenced operations in 2017 and currently has a presence across more than 200 cities with 250+ dealerships. The company has recently raised funding to accelerate its growth and launch new electric two-wheeler models. iVoomi states that the new connected features underline its focus on offering advanced IoT-based solutions using the latest technology.
