Thömus bikes is a world-renowned cycling company selling throughout Switzerland and beyond. The company has started business in the USA with its newest Electric Innovation- the Swissrider cycle. Now, Thömus mountain bikes, road bikes, and gravel bikes are now available in North America, at Thömus USA. These include both Manual and Electric versions. Thömus USA showroom and workshop are based in Santa Monica, California.
Weight
The electric bikes are designed to serve the needs of urban as well as sporty cyclists alike. The Swissrider is claimed as a solid and do-it-all e-bike. The cycle is ultra-lightweight. The weight of Swissrider cycle is around 25 pounds, or 11.36 kilograms only. The Swissrider is claimed as the lightest e-bike available. It is so light that you can carry it upstairs or hang it on the train without effort.
Design & Specifications
The design of the e-bike is so simple that at the first glance, you could simply miss the fact that this is an electric 2-wheeler that has a battery and electric motor. Only the control element on the top tube is visible to suggest that it is an electric vehicle.

The Swissrider has a sleek design, super-light construction. The e-bike is equipped with a Maxon Bikedrive Air motor. The motor is rated for a continuous output of 250 watts. It delivers a peak output of 300 watts and 40 Nm of torque. The battery pack has three options 250 Wh, 360 Wh, or 426 Wh. However, a 250 Wh range extender is available as an additional option. The e-bike is made up of high-modulus carbon fiber.
Pricing
- The Urban version of the e-bike comes in two trim levels and features a flat handlebar. The retail price of the XT version is $5,750 USD, however, the range-topping model XTR carries a price tag of $7,750.
- If we look at the road bike models, again there are two variants, which are equipped with a drop-bar. The retail price of the Ultegra Di2 with a 2×12 drivetrain is $6,250 USD, however, the Dura Ace Di2 model carries a price tag of $7,750 USD.
All the Swissrider cycles are equipped with mid to top-range mountain bike components from Shimano.
