Tata Motors electric vehicle division was renamed as Tata.ev

Tata Motors has launched a new logo for its electric vehicle lineup in India. The firm has not stated when the insignia will be used, but it is expected to debut on its electric vehicles within the next few months. Tata’s new logo combines the company’s classic insignia with the letter ‘ev’ on one side.

Tata Motors has rebranded its electric vehicle (EV) business unit as Tata.ev as part of streamlining its various operations.

The circle encircling it is designed to represent “a circular ecosystem of human and environmental interaction,” according to the business. The creator feels the new layout uses less ink and uses a black backdrop rather than a bright one to save electricity, both of which were given as grounds for the move.

Tata Motors presently sells three electric vehicles in India: Tiago EV, Tigor EV, and Nexon EV. Tata Motors has recently sold one million electric automobiles in India.

Why did Tata Motors launch a new brand?

TATA.ev was born as the EV offering expands and customers envision an unforgettable experience across every interaction, from the brand to the product and its ownership period, according to Tata Motors.

Mr Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Sales, and Service Strategy, at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., commented on the new brand identity, saying, “We are entering a new era with TATA.ev.” Our new electric car brand identity underscores our commitment to accelerating the adoption of sustainable energy mobility solutions.

The Indian automaker also plans to launch four electric SUVs by the beginning of 2024. The revised Nexon EV, Punch EV, Harrier EV, and Curvv EV are among them.

The business claims that these new electric vehicles will be delivered to the Tata Motors PV division over the next several quarters. These three will be available in the first quarter of the next fiscal year, while the updated Nexon EV will be available on September 14, 2023.
