Rolls-Royce Spectre, the British luxury carmaker’s first-ever electric vehicle, was launched in India on Saturday with a starting price of Rs 5.5 crore (ex-showroom). The Spectre marks Rolls-Royce’s entry into the emerging luxury EV segment in the country.

The Spectre is based on Rolls-Royce’s proprietary aluminum spaceframe architecture and is powered by a 430 kW dual motor set-up. The EV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. It offers up to 520 km of range on a full charge based on the WLTP cycle.

The Spectre comes loaded with ultra-luxury features like Starlight Doors, Bespoke Illuminated Fascia, and wood and leather interiors. It gets a digital OLED dashboard and is the first series production car in the world to have these displays.

It combines beautiful design, peerless luxury, effortless transition to EV, cutting-edge technology, and refined presence. We are excited to officially debut this pinnacle product in India, one of our highest potential markets globally,” added Fritsches.

The Spectre is based on a dedicated EV architecture from Rolls-Royce and has been engineered from the ground up as an all-electric vehicle. According to the company, extensive testing has been carried out to simulate more than 2.5 million km of real-world driving across some of the harshest conditions and terrains worldwide.

Rolls-Royce is accepting orders for the Spectre in India; first deliveries are expected by the end of 2023. The company aims to have all Rolls-Royce products fully electric by 2030.
