Porsche’s best-selling model is turning electrified. The Porsche Macan EV was recently seen with minimal concealment, providing us with our first glimpse at the brand’s first electric SUV.
Porsche Macan EV 2024 has been spotted in near-production form
When it arrives next year, Porsche believes the Macan EV will be the “sportiest model in its segment,” which will feature the Tesla Model Y performance, Polestar 3, Mercedes-Benz EQC, Genesis GV60, and others.
The Macan EV will be crucial in Porsche’s move to an all-electric portfolio. Porsche shipped 47,755 Macan SUVs in the first half of the year, outnumbering the Cayenne (46,884) and 911 (26,124).
The Taycan EV sports vehicle, Porsche’s first electric model, continues to be plagued by semiconductor shortages, forcing deliveries to slip 4.7% to slightly under 18,000.
Following multiple delays, Porsche’s production manager, Albrecht Reimold, stated that he “will do everything with my colleagues” to deliver the all-electric Macan in 2024.

As can be seen, the new electric Macan will have a somewhat different look than the ICE model, with additional curves for improved aerodynamics (similar to the Porsche Cayenne).

Porsche’s future PPE platform, which will also power the Audi Q6 E-Tron, will be used to power the Macan EV.
Porsche and Audi believe that the PPE platform will provide improved performance thanks to an 800V architecture, next-generation electric motors, and cutting-edge battery and charging management.
The PPE is capable of producing up to 450 kW 603 hp (450 kW) of power and a maximum torque of over 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm). The Macan EV will also include the latest-generation permanently excited synchronous electric motors (PSM) and silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors to improve efficiency.
Porsche claims that the all-electric Macan will have a lithium-ion battery with a total capacity of roughly 100 kWh and fast charge capabilities (5% to 80%) in under 25 minutes.
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus will be standard on the top-tier Macan EV model to improve traction, driving stability, and transverse dynamics. The electric Porsche Macan will also be available with AWD and one electric motor per axle, allowing for precision control.
