BYD India celebrates the 10th year anniversary of its successful EV journey in India

BYD India, a subsidiary of the world’s leading New Energy Vehicles (NEV) manufacturer BYD, celebrated its 10th year anniversary in the Electric Vehicle (EV) segment in India, a significant milestone in the company’s 16+ years of successful operations in the country. BYD India opened a new office in Gurugram to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its EV journey in India.

The company celebrates its tenth anniversary in the Indian electric segment with a firm commitment to the Indian EV industry and a mission of fostering sustainable growth through cutting-edge technology breakthroughs for a better life, according to the company.

BYD began operations in India in 2007 with the electronics industry and eventually extended to other businesses. BYD India’s EV journey began on August 20, 2013, with the arrival of its first electric bus in Chennai, which is also the first pure electric bus in the history of India’s automobile industry, signaling the electrification of public transportation in India, according to a company press release.

Over the years, the company has expanded into a varied range of goods such as electric passenger vehicles, e-buses, e-trucks, and e-forklifts, cementing its position as a rising market leader in India’s EV industry.

Through its electric passenger vehicles, electric forklifts, electric lorries, and electric buses powered by BYD’s battery, powertrain, and chassis technologies, the business has helped eliminate 274 million kg of CO2 emissions in India alone.

According to the statement, the overall mileage of BYD’s electric buses in India has exceeded 126,883,681 km, with the single greatest driving mileage exceeding 469,668 km.

In the passenger car market, the BYD ATTO3 and the All-New e6 took first place in the premium eSUV and eMPV segments. These accomplishments illustrate BYD India’s constant dedication to the Indian market, environmental responsibility, and long-term policies.
