BMW expanding portfolio in the USA
BMW sold 15,584 fully electric vehicles in the United States in 2022. The company expects a sizable increase in EV sales in 2023 too. BMW expects that the volume will triple this year. Put simply BMW expects to sell nearly 47,000 EVs. The automaker is BMW expanding portfolio in the USA.
The i4 eDrive35 has gone on sale with a price tag of $52,000. This is the most affordable Electric Car available in America.

BMW announced that 2023 will the first full year for i5, iX, and i4 EVs to be on sale in the USA. The company confirmed that the i5 will also be available as an all-electric variant of the next-generation 5 Series mid-size Sedan.
The BMW i4 eDrive35 has a 70.2 kWh battery pack to get enough power. The estimated range is 260 miles (418 Km) on a single charge. The battery provides power to a single rear electric motor. The motor is rated at 210 kilowatts (281 horsepower) and generates 295 pound-foot (400 Newton-meters) of torque.
The automaker aims for 20% of total sales in the US to do away with the IC engine in 2023. It is good to share that “M Performance vehicles” may constitute for almost 20% of BMW’s volume. Just to add, in 2022, the i4 M50 was the best-selling car of BMW M in the world.
Though not announced officially, an i4 xDrive40 may be launched in North America in 2023. It may be a filling between $57,100 eDrive40 and M50 priced at $68,700. The i4 xDrive40 is expected to have AWD with dual motors. Interestingly the motors will produce an output of more than the 335 hp and 317 lb-ft of the eDrive40 but less than the 536 hp and 586 lb-ft of the M50.
BMW is also working on an i5 Touring, an iX2 may also be unveiled by the end of 2023.
